High Top Holidaze...

Want some hot picks for the holidays? FSF's Lori Lobenstine and Amonee Rochester share some new favorites, as we get ready to hunker down for the winter...
(With love to the lucky Brazilians, Aussies, South Africans, Californians, and other sneaker fiends rocking sandals & sunny lowtops with their shorts...) |

Amonee: This holiday season should be about keeping it simple. No crazy colorways or prints should be allowed! To show you how it's done, here is my take on it. First up is the Keep Guerra. I'm a big fan of the Guerra because of its silhouette. It's nothing too dramatic and with the different simple colors
and patterns that Keep offers, you can't go wrong.

Lori: Well, I generally agree about not going wild with colors and patterns, but I want to start out with a wild one anyways. I still love how the Nike women's urban team pulled this lime green and gold Vandal Mid together...

Amonee: Next up for me is the Supra Skytop Wildlife. I know you're thinking "Didn't
she say simple?" Hey, there is nothing wrong with having some acid wash in
your life! To me this is simple in a "cool" way.

Lori: Well, if I was going with a Supra Skytop (a great winter sneaker), I'd go with the grey TUF suede, but that's me. I'm going to switch over to a real winter sneaker-boot, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Outside Hi. I'm not always a fan of these hybrid half-sneaker/half-boot, half-sneaker/half-shoe combos, but I think this one's cute:

Amonee: The last of my holiday picks is the Bo Jackson Trainer in Beet Red. Bo Jacksons
are one of my favorite sneakers and definitely a must have in your closet,
period! Once again a simple clean colorway is all you need. And I'm signing off...

Lori: Alright, bye Amonee! Well, while we're on Nikes and bringing back stars and kicks of the past, let's look at the Half Cent, celebrating Penny Hardaway of course. This one is sure to appeal to Penny lovers (except the purists) and to many Jordan lovers, cuz it brings back the 90s when Penny's were right up there with Jordans on the high tech fun.

Speaking of Jordans, we can't forget the much awaited (and postponed) Jordan XI Space Jam. Many a Jordan-head is breaking the bank for these, so if you're looking for a gift, you can offer to buy it (not easy) or even offer to sleep out for them! (A true labor of love.)

For a more low-tech look, the Puma Hooper Suede looks great and is a bit off the beaten path.

I also really like these handsome perforated Pro-Keds, which come in black or white.

And finally, I'm going to sneak in a pair that you can get online at one of my favorite shops, Overkill Shop in Berlin. I've always raved about my hightop Kangaroos (with the pocket in the tongue!), and now some are coming back, thanks to a sweet collab with Sneakerness. Check these out...

Hope you see something you like! We aimed to hit some kicks you could get anywhere, some you'd have to work hard for, and some that're as easy as clicking a link.... And of course we shot for kicks that come in small sizes (although you know that's not always easy)
In any case, we hope the holidaze treat you and your feet WELL!
