Summer Skippies

Barbeques, loud music, idle teenagers and hoards of screaming children—yes, summer is upon us here in the Northeast U.S.. The summertime brings a frolicking, fun feeling with it. Seasonal trips and vacations are being planned. But even with all the summer fun, people are still being economically prudent, as the average American’s budget is airtight. I myself am planning for a study abroad semester in Europe. Of all the errands and things to get done, my biggest dilemma is what sneakers to buy! The most important features I am in search of are comfort, cost and versatility.

It seems that skippies are the perfect pick for this summer. Skippies are both economically sound and stylistically versatile. Also they are very lightweight shoes that are prime for packing and traveling light! If you are opting for a more rigid skater girl look, the Vans brand skippies are the way to go. These versions are more durable than other competing brands of skippies. The sole is thicker and stronger, which promises a longer lasting performance.

Keds has been a quality brand in the sneaker industry for some time now. My mother has been caught reminiscing on wearing Pro-Keds sneakers.
