Although I am a Canon person for almost all things camera and I own a 1DN Canon SLR. I highly recommend the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. It might not be as small and compact as the Canon point and shoots, but what it lacks in size is forgiven by the great image quality. A great size to look at camera reviews is on http://dpreview.com

I have a Nikon and I love it!! I have a Nikon L110 and it's great!! But if you're really into photography I'd go with a D5000!! I know a few people with them and they take even better pictures than mine, they're great!! My bf wants to get one!

I got a NIKON DSLR. Quality is crystal clear. Just look for a camera with high megapixels. :)
